911, The Tenth Anniversary-Turning the Negative into Positive

Updated on October 30, 2012

We will never forget!

MY MEMORIES OF THAT DAY (September 1, 2001)

Like most people I know the events of 911 has been burned into my memory. The shock fear, grief and rage that were manifested by the events of that day will always haunt me. Also, the way that the Nation united in the coming months after the attack would also touch me like no other event that I have witnessed before or since. It was soon after this, that I started wondering about the fulfilment of Bible prophecy, especially the references made about the Middle East. Yes, that day was a major turning point in the ways that I view the world.

I remember how a co-worker reacted when we first heard the news on the radio that a jet airliner had hit one of the twin towers. He was convinced that World War III had started and he was about to take of for the hills! We were on the road at the time so I did not have the chance to even see the images of this tragic event until that evening. It was soon after this that the Anthrax scare happened and it seemed like the whole world had gone mad.

Besides the unity that happen because of that event, it was also like the world had suddenly become paranoid. In the months to come, everything seemed to be a matter of security. We were told it was all for our own good, we had to sacrifice some freedoms for a greater since of security. The airports tightened their security, along with the United States Postal Service. soon, laws were passed that also greatly changed the way things were done within our society, not only here in the United States of America but though out Europe for 911 was not only attack on America but the entire Western World. The Patriot Act is just one example of how our world had been transformed by this one event.

The world was now on HIGH ALERT as we also began the war on Terrorism. As all this was happening, there were two extremely opposite responses to all that was transpiring. A increase in scams and people trying to make a buck off of the fear and other negative responses, and a increase in people volunteering and helping others. It was as if a spiritual tug-a-war was happening right before our eyes!

Now it has been ten since years since 911, ten years that seem to past in the blink of an eye. Many things had changed and yet many things have stayed the same. We are still fighting in Afghanistan in a war that does not seem to have a end. Even after the death of Ben-laden not much has changed. All this time, this time bomb that is known as the Middle East keeps ticking! The count down to Armageddon is shorter all the time as the tenth anniversary to one of the most tragic days in recent history looms on the horizon.

So the question I ask you, is what will you do to commemorate this anniversary of this dark day? Will you take part in something positive that will make a difference? Will you let this day slip by as just another day, or will you strive to make some kind of action that will effect others in a positive way?

The reason why I ask that question is that a Christian radio station I listen to known as KLove is encouraging their listeners to pledge to do something in a positive way within their community. The possibilities are endless and may be as simple as taking out the trash for the old lady that lives next door. From the evidence that was found in the compound were bin Laden was found, it was clear that the terrorist were making plans to do another attack on U.S soil. If this is the case, does it not make since to do something that is would improve another's life? On the link below, you will be able to go to their website (Klove) and sign up and tell them what you plan to do on that day to brighten just a little part of the darkness in this world!

There goal is to have one million people commit to doing something positive to remember that day by, what else would be more powerful?
